In the last year:

• 10,000 under-18s were admitted to hospital because of the effects of alcohol;
• One in five 16 year olds has been caught up in violent behaviour after drinking;
• Between July and September 2009, 5,171 litres of alcohol were confiscated from young people as part of the Governments summer alcohol campaign;
• And 1,982 young people were referred to support services

In the context of a concerted cross-Government drive to tackle alcohol misuse, and building on the Summer alcohol campaign and the proposals in forthcoming guidance for schools on drugs and alcohol, this set of roadshows will give frontline practitioners an opportunity to explore some of the key tools and leading practice in preventing young people’s alcohol-fuelled anti-social behaviour.
