The Children's Society Training & Consultancy Service aims to work with practitioners and professionals within the statutory and voluntary sectors to make England a safer place for children & young people. Our services are delivered via a specialist team who provide a national network of training provision, offering support and promoting best practice to ensure the needs of children & young people are met and safeguarded.
The aim of the training course is to increase participants’ understanding of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities, their history and culture and the discrimination they face.
Through engaging with Gypsy, Roma and Traveller culture and history, staff will therefore feel more confident in implementing the key principles of good practice in working with Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.
This training is suitable for delegates who already, or may in future, come into contact with members of Gypsy, Roma or Traveller communities. The training can also help organisations, with a statutory duty to include ethnic minorities, meet these requirements.
