Making it Mainstream has been written for school staff who are interested in developing sustainable in-school support for pupils with mental health problems, in particular, depression.
Written by three consultants with experience of working with many agencies providing support to young people with mental health problems, the booklet brings together policy, key research messages and practical advice about developing and sustaining in-school support for pupils.
The information is based on an extensive review of the literature alongside the findings of a research study which explored the experiences of a range of schools that the three authors worked with in 2008/9. Making it Mainstream also provides a comprehensive resources section for school staff.
We hope that you will find this document a useful resource to call upon in your work either in or with schools. A short briefing paper of the study findings will be also be available later in the summer.
