MISP - Massage in Schools Training Progamme
MISP is a clothed child to child massage programme that provides a calming and relaxing experience for the children, improves respect for others, raises self-esteem and reduces bullying. For this reason it is being used by many schools to contribute to PHSE programmes and the Healthy Schools Award (Emotional Health and Well Being).
It is a concrete way of demonstrating many schools ethos of caring, calm and respectful communities, staying safe and also a proactive way of promoting children’s emotional well being, an area that has been recognised within the latest OFSTED guidelines.
The programme also meets four of the five targets from 'Every Child Matters':
- Staying Safe
- Be Healthy
- Enjoy and Achieve
- Make a positive contribution
MISP is an established, well structured programme; the ‘Massage in schools Association’ www.misa.org.uk is a member of the Anti-bullying association. The programme was established in the UK in 2003 and we have been running training courses throughout the UK and abroad successfully ever since.
